Celebrating our Diverse faith!
Enthusiasm was in abundance at our last Multicultural Mass planning meeting with a report on the involvement of so many capturing everyone’s imagination. The liturgy will be uplifting and dynamic, full of colour, movement and sound!
Our first ever Multicultural Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, June 18th at 11am. If you would like to be part of the liturgy get in contact with other members of your cultural group or association or contact the liturgy co-ordinator Michael Fitzpatrick.
In these weeks leading up to the Multicultural Mass our focus is also on the celebrations flowing on after the Mass. We want everyone to have the chance of tasting and experiencing something of the uniqueness and vitality of the many different groups and cultures that build up and sustain our community. We will be setting up stalls around the grounds of Stella Maris and will also have a stage where the music and dance of the many communities will be on display. If we are expecting over 400 at the Mass – that’s a lot of food – and a lot of generosity! To be part of the generous teams that make this all possible please contact one of the following coordinators:
Philippines – Maricel Morris
Latin American – Stella Passeggi
Pacific – John Ioane
Poland – Ursula Riggio
Brazil – Paula Rodrigues
Nigeria – Fr Ejikeme
Indian – Molly Jain
South Africa – Robert Baatjes
Celtic Flavours – Margaret Southon and Patricia Sweeney Fawcett
Malaysia – Jane Chung and Peter Thien
Can’t see your group? Would you like to help coordinate a table? Would you like more information, if so please get in contact with Fr Peter. Our Multicultural Mass is inclusive of all in our Parish Family. If you can’t see a group or association that you fit into then perhaps you might join in the celebrations by bringing something Australian – ANZAC biscuits, lamingtons, jam drops – use your imagination!!!
