Safeguarding

Safeguarding Sunday in the Dioceses of Australia is a day to pray for all who have experienced abuse or harm, to support their healing, and to renew our commitment to creating communities where every person is welcomed, respected and safe.

In the Gospels, Jesus shows particular care for those who are vulnerable and calls his disciples to do the same. Safeguarding is not simply a policy or procedure; it is a Gospel responsibility that reflects the dignity of every person and our shared commitment to love one another as Christ has loved us.

As we celebrate today, let us pray for all who continue to journey towards healing, give thanks for those who serve in safeguarding ministry, and recommit ourselves to building parish communities where trust, compassion and care are evident in all we do.

Safeguarding Training

If you’re a volunteer in a ministry that requires a Blue Card or Police Check, thank you for all you do!

To keep up with the recent changes in Safeguarding Legislation it is a mandatory requirement for Blue Card and Police Check holders to renew their training every two years.

For anyone who isn’t able to complete the preferred online training through Arch-elearn, the Maroochydore Parish Safeguarding Team offers face-to-face training from time to time. Please check the Parish newsletter or call the office for times or alternatively we can assist you online in the office.
