Siena Catholic Primary School
There has been plenty of learning and a hive of activity at Siena Primary this term.
We started Term 2 by celebrating the Feast of St Catherine of Siena followed by plethora of events, both curricular and extra- curricular, in the classroom and in the Religious Life of the school.
This term included Outdoor Learning Day run by Year 6, ANZAC day Liturgy and the march at Buderim; Mother’s Day Breaky and Liturgy; QC Netball Cup; Cross Country; Athletics Carnival, 7s Rugby; Excursions – Year 2 – Local Indigenous Sights; Year 6 – Parliament House; Under 8’s Activity morning; Siena Primary led Parish Mass; Confirmation; Siena run Community BBQ, Sorry day, Reconciliation Week, Choir performances and Guitar ensemble. Finally, the term culminated with the St Vinnies Winter Appeal. We were so very happy by the response of our Siena Primary community to assist the poor and vulnerable.
We look forward to a two-week break to review, recharge and refresh ready for a busy Term 3. God bless you all and as we pray for our parishioners may you continue to keep us in your prayers as well.

With the end of this week, we also mark the end of Semester 1. The key event of the week was the first day of our Athletics Carnival. On what was a beautiful sunny day, our athletes travelled to the UniSC track for a day of fierce House competition. Both track and field events were on the agenda, although we’re not sure how serious some of our runners were – after all, how easy is it to run while dressed as a Teletubby or one of the Mario Brothers. Congratulations to Catherine House who are currently leading in the points tally.
Our 1st Division Netball team are heading to Townsville during the holidays for the annual QISSN carnival. We wish them luck as they compete against some of the best netball teams in Queensland.
