Siena Catholic Primary School
Siena Primary celebrated Book Week this week with a myriad of activities and festivities celebrating our love of books and the importance of literature in our lives.
The theme this year is ‘Reading is Magic’
The week started with the annual book parade hosted by our librarian Colleen Tonks dressed as the Queen of Hearts. The staff performed ‘Wombat Stew’ followed by the costumes parade of every year level, accompanied by songs throughout the Daintree, applauded by us all! It was a magical morning.
Throughout the week the children participated in many activities focused on the love of reading. There were Kahoots, daily quizzes at morning messages, rugs and reading, scavenger hunts etc. The library was decorated in the theme of magic and was a hub of excitement for the week’s festivities.
Book Week is a highlight in our school’s calendar and this year it was magical!
Stella Maris Primary School
Book Week is alive and well at Stella Maris Catholic Primary School. We had a record number of students and staff, dressed up and getting engaged in all our Book Week activities this week. We began with a fabulous introduction by the teachers on our Book Week Committee, who brewed up a dynamic concoction on stage to get us started. Our parade delighted all, showcasing the super-creative designing, sourcing and construction by parents and children. Then, throughout the week, classes took time to enjoy all the mystery ‘Book Boxes’ which really connected students to the magic of reading.
What a great week!
Siena Catholic College
Last Friday, we celebrated Siena Day and we wanted to share some images that capture what was a fabulous day of prayer, fun and community building.
