Keeping on Top of Technology

We are growing our presence to serve you better!

In recent times, you may have noticed the growing initiatives across our parish to connect with you and keep you abreast of the ministries, events and gatherings taking place across our four church communities.

Since the launch of our parish website www.maroochydoreparish.com.au in November 2022, the Parish Communications Team has been developing our visual identity, building recognition for our Stella Maris Catholic Parish by: designing a new parish logo that represents our four church communities; developing a subscription-based eNewsletter, ‘The Weekly’, to opt-in to stay informed of what’s happening across our parish community each week delivered right to your inbox; designing new Parish brochures that you may have seen around our churches to provide you and new parishioners with information regarding our Mass times, NET ministries, Children’s and Youth Ministry programs and other various services available including our Columbarium, Endowment Fund and Planned Giving programs. Be sure to subscribe to Stella Maris Catholic Parish’s The Weekly if you haven’t already at https://maroochydoreparish.com.au/enewsletter-subscribe

Now we are ready to expand and serve you better by providing improved live streaming of our Mass(es) on Sunday. It can be accessed from our Parish Facebook page www.facebook.com/mission.stella. Live streaming connects us with our fellow parishioners who, for whatever reason, can’t join us to celebrate the Eucharist.  For those who are housebound or in a care facility, the live streaming of our Masses and other celebrations at Stella Maris is a vital ministry.

To expand our social media presence, Georgia-Rae Whiteley, Parish   Social Media Coordinator, joins the Parish Communications team. Georgia will work alongside Bernadette Bain, our Parish Director of Communications, and together will expand our ability to keep connected.

Their goal is to expand our parish communications by using emerging media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and YouTube to connect with our growing audience needs and reach out to our Parish community on the Sunshine Coast. Through the parish social media, parishioners, as well as the broader Sunshine Coast community, will be able to stay up to date with the great things happening in our parish and never miss out on our fantastic events. It is a brilliant opportunity for us to share the Gospel message far and wide.

We are a diverse and vibrant parish, unified in our commitment to gather in friendship with those we encounter and to live out our mission to share the story of the Good News and witness Gospel values. However, our four church communities are far and wide, and we invite you to assist and be communications champions and send in parishioner photos when you gather at one of our parish events to Georgia, ([email protected] ).

We also hope to communicate with you more online to convey important messages regularly and rapidly through video. Videos have grown to become an important part of online content diversity and they are an important communication tool for parishioners who are especially homebound.

If you know of any parishioners, who might not have an email or access to the internet, please do let us know by contacting the Parish Office. We would like to connect more with them by posting them a letter or offering other faith development opportunities.

By subscribing to our weekly eNewsletter and liking or following our Facebook and Instagram page we have the opportunity to explore through the latest technology areas of communication and faith development that perhaps stretches our

imagination of what is possible.  However, by being prepared to embrace the latest technology we can continue to be a parish family here on the Sunshine Coast that is alive, engaged and connected!

Welcome to the brave new world of being Church and proclaiming the Good News!
