This week, we held Loud Shirt and Crazy Sock Day supporting Catholic Missions’ Socktober initiative, encouraging students to think globally and act locally. Students and staff wore fun, crazy socks in support of vulnerable children around the world. In addition, we wore our brightest and boldest shirts to raise awareness and funds for Hear and Say, an organisation that supports children with hearing loss.

Thanks to the generosity of our families, we raised hundreds of dollars for these two very worthy causes.

Our curious Year 1 students have been diving into the world of forces and movement!  They’ve been exploring how different materials can change the way things move. From smooth surfaces to rough ones, our little scientists are discovering the magic of push and pull!

Highlights:

– Push & Pull Fun: Learning how pushing and pulling can make things go zoom!

– Material Magic: Testing how different surfaces affect the speed and distance of moving objects.

– Hands-On Experiments: Building ramps, sliding objects, and having a blast with friction!

Our young explorers are not just learning science—they’re experiencing it!

It’s getting to the season of major events, when we celebrate all that is important about belonging to our community. On Wednesday night, our Dance troupe presented their end-of-year showcase – performing many of their award-winning pieces from throughout the year. All who attended were in awe of the depth of talent and the skill of our dancers.

On Thursday night, we gathered as a College for our annual Awards Presentation evening. This was a celebration of all who have achieved success in the academic sphere and those who have committed themselves to their studies and to community life.  Friday saw a number of our Junior students participating in our own Vinnies sleepout – where we spent the night trying to sleep on makeshift bedding – in order to experience some of what it means to be homeless. Many thanks to the Year 11 student leaders who took the participants through a series of learning activities on the issue of homelessness. We’d like to share with you the progress on our new mural, which connects the indigenous story with our four Pillars of Prayer, Study, Community and Service.
